PIM integration: all product information in one place

When products come from hundreds of suppliers, the ERP and external data sources, product information often ends up scattered across Excel files, emails and different systems. As a result, product cards are incomplete and products reach the online store slowly. PIM (Product Information Management) brings all product information into one place.

Let's discuss your project

Product information in one place

In the PIM, every product type has its own product card, required fields and a completeness check. A product moves to the online store and the ERP only when its data is in order.

Our solution is built on Akeneo PIM, which deals with product information only. Orders, stock and sales stay with the ERP and the online store, so each system does what it is good at.

Setup and integrations

The platform alone is not enough: the value of a PIM comes from how it is set up and connected to other systems. Together with the client, we map the product families and their attributes, each with its own rules.

We then connect the PIM to the ERP and the online store and set up a workflow that takes a new product from entry to enrichment and pricing, and from there to sale. SKU validation rules out duplicates, and every product shows how much of its required information is filled in.

A partner portal for suppliers

For suppliers, we offer a partner portal where they add their products themselves. The supplier picks a product type, downloads its Excel template, fills it in and uploads it. The system checks the required fields straight away and shows the rows with errors.

A supplier sees only their own products, with their status and completeness, and has no access to anyone else's data. The store receives product information in a structured form without copying it by hand, and the supplier does not have to wait for anyone's reply.

A PIM project: data and integrations

Data model
We analyse and set up the data model: every product type gets its own product card.
Two-way ERP integration
Products, attributes, barcodes, stock, prices, class and VAT, and closing a product card, with a queue system and retries.
Online store connection
We connect the PIM to the online store either directly or through the ERP.
Importing external data sources
For example an e-book platform, a book data converter or supplier feeds.
Image management
Bulk upload over FTP, a CDN, and passing image URLs to the ERP and the online store.

A PIM project: suppliers, workflow and support

Supplier partner portal
Excel templates per product type, import validation and error messages, users and roles, and a product list with status and completeness.
Workflow, permissions and security
Statuses from the supplier's entry to enrichment and pricing, user groups and two-factor authentication where needed.
Data migration
Migrating and cleaning the initial data from the existing ERP.
Hosting, monitoring and maintenance
Server, Sentry and monitoring of import errors.
Training
Training and user guides for both internal users and suppliers.

E-commerce integrations

Content management (CMS)

We connect the store to a content management system, so marketing can manage campaigns, banners and pages without a developer.

Akeneo

Akeneo PIM handles product information only. We set it up by product family and connect it to the ERP and the online store.

AI search

AI-based product search understands the shopper's question, not just keywords, and finds the right product without its exact name.

Warehouse management system

We connect the online store to the warehouse management system, so stock levels, picking and delivery move between the systems automatically.
