One codebase for two platforms
The same codebase runs on iOS and Android, so development and maintenance are faster and cheaper than with two separate apps.
We build mobile apps with React Native that run on both iOS and Android from a single codebase. We use Expo or plain React Native, depending on what your app needs, and the app can use the same data and business logic as your website or online store.
We don’t start from the technology but from your goal. First we find out whether React Native is the right choice for your project.
React Native is a framework created by Meta for building real mobile apps for iOS and Android from one codebase. For a business, that means three things.
The same codebase runs on iOS and Android, so development and maintenance are faster and cheaper than with two separate apps.
React Native uses the phone’s own interface components, so the app is fast and behaves the way users expect.
If your website is built with React or Next.js, part of the logic and the team’s know-how carries over to the mobile app.
Account balance, contracts, invoices and notifications in one app.
Cart, loyalty programme and push notifications, connected to your online store.
Tasks, stock-keeping and field work, even without an internet connection.
A companion to your web service, using the same login and API.
Connections to ERP, CRM and payment systems, so data moves by itself.
Audit, version upgrade and maintenance for an app built by another team.
React Native doesn’t suit every project, and we say so honestly at the first meeting. If the app needs very specific hardware or complex graphics, native development may be the better choice.
| Feature | React Native | Native (Swift, Kotlin) | Web app (PWA) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best suited for | most business and customer apps | complex graphics, games, special hardware | simple tools without an app store |
| Platforms | iOS and Android from one codebase | each platform separately | browser |
| Speed and user experience | very good | best | good |
| Access to phone features | broad | full | limited |
| App Store and Google Play | yes | yes | no |
| Initial budget | medium | higher | lower |
| Development over the years | easy, one team | two codebases | easy |
We use both and choose by what the project needs. Expo speeds up development and suits prototypes and many apps well. Plain React Native gives full control when the app needs special native features. An app started with Expo can be moved to plain React Native later if needed.
| Feature | Expo | Plain React Native |
|---|---|---|
| Best suited for | prototypes, MVPs and typical business and customer apps | apps that need special native features |
| Getting started | very fast, ready-made tools and modules | more setup |
| Native features | a wide range of ready modules; custom native work takes extra effort | full access, including your own native code and SDKs |
| Small updates | straight to users, without an app store review | mainly through the app stores |
| Builds and release | as a cloud service | in your own build setup (Xcode, Android Studio) |
| React Native version upgrades | simpler | take more manual work |
We take over apps built by another agency or an in-house team. We start with a code and security audit, which shows you what is in order, what needs fixing and what is critical.
After the takeover we keep looking after the app: monitoring, security updates and new versions in the app stores are part of the maintenance service.
You talk directly to the people who build your app, not to intermediaries.
We listen to your goals and tell you honestly whether React Native fits.
Functionality, integrations, timeline and a clickable prototype.
A test version on your phone every couple of weeks.
We test on real devices and publish the app on the App Store and Google Play.
We stay with the app after release too.
Technologies:
The price depends on the functionality, integrations and design. We give an exact estimate after a short analysis.
It depends on the scope of the app. We set the timeline for the first version during the analysis, and you see a working test version within a couple of weeks.
For most business and customer apps React Native is faster and cheaper, because one codebase runs on both platforms. Native development pays off when the app needs very specific hardware or complex graphics.
Yes. Expo gets you a prototype or first version quickly, and if the app later needs special native features, we move it to plain React Native without starting over.
Yes. We connect the app to your existing API, online store or CMS, so data doesn’t have to be duplicated.
Yes. We prepare the app store materials, go through the review and publish later versions too.
Yes. We start with a code and security audit and propose where to begin.
