Product management from goal to results

A good product doesn't come from a list of features but from a clear goal. We help decide what to build first, what later and what not at all, so the time put into development delivers business results.

We work alongside your team as a product manager or support your own, from the first version to the product's further growth.

Let's discuss your product

Why does product management matter?

Without product management, a product grows at random. For you, good product management means three things.

The right things first

We prioritise development by business value, so what matters most reaches users first.

A clear direction for everyone

The product vision and roadmap give management, developers and designers the same picture of where the product is heading.

Decisions based on data

We measure how the product is used and base the next decisions on results, not opinions.

How does product management work?

  1. Goals and vision

Together we work out what the product must deliver for the business and who it is for.

  2. Roadmap

We lay out what we build first and what follows, with the reasoning behind every step.

  3. Priorities and backlog

We write user stories and keep the backlog in order, so development always knows what comes next.

  4. Development in cycles

We work in short cycles and check after each one that we are on the right track.

  5. Measuring and improving

We track the agreed metrics and adjust the roadmap to what users actually do.

What do you get from product management?

Product management is not just meetings. You get the materials and routines that keep the product on course.

Product vision
A short, clear description of who the product is for and what it solves.
Roadmap
The plan for the coming months, with priorities and reasoning.
An orderly backlog
User stories and a work queue development can move forward with straight away.
Metrics
Agreed indicators that show whether the product is moving towards its goal.
Regular updates
A clear picture of what is done, what is in progress and what comes next.

What support do you need?

It depends on whether you are starting a new product and whether you already have a product manager. Together we choose the way of working that fits your situation.

Developing an existing product further

A live product often has a long wish list and little clarity on where to start. We look at how the product is used today and help put the backlog in order, so the next developments bring the most value.

If another team built the product, we start by mapping where things stand.

The first version of a new product

With a new product, the biggest risk is building too much too early. We help define a first version you can learn from with real users, and add functionality based on what they actually need.

Before development we test the idea with a prototype, so the first version rests on tested assumptions.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the difference between a product manager and a project manager?

A project manager makes sure the agreed work gets done on time and on budget. A product manager makes sure the right things get done: the ones that bring users and the business the most value.

  • Do we need a product manager if we already have a development team?

Often that is exactly when. The development team knows how to build; a product manager helps decide what to build and in which order.

  • Can you work with our own product manager?

Yes. We can support your product manager, take on part of the work or help set up the processes.

  • How long does the collaboration last?

It depends on the need. A strategy workshop is short; product management in your team is usually a longer collaboration. We agree on the scope after the kick-off meeting.

  • What is a roadmap?

A roadmap is a plan showing what the product needs to achieve in the coming months and in which order. It is not a locked list but a living document we update based on results.

  • How do we measure whether the product is heading the right way?

Based on the goals we agree on metrics, such as the number of active users, conversion or support requests, and review them regularly.
