WordPress is the world's most widely used CMS. It suits marketing and information sites where editing content has to be easy.
Coursy: a training platform that knows who needs which course

Coursy is a platform that small and medium-sized companies use to manage employee training and certification. It links courses to job roles and organisational units, automatically assigns employees to the right training and gives managers and trainers a clear view of who has completed what.
Opus has been Coursy’s development and design partner from the very start.
The challenge
Managing employee training with spreadsheets and email doesn’t scale.
- Nobody knows who needs what. Different roles have different mandatory courses and refresher intervals. Tracked by hand, someone always slips through.
- Deadlines are missed. Training that must be repeated every year or two is easily forgotten. An expired certificate only comes to light in an audit or after an incident.
- Managers lack visibility. Managers can’t see in one place whether their team has completed the required training. The information has to be pieced together from several sources.
- Classroom training doesn’t suit everyone. Shift work and multiple locations make it hard to find a common time. Employees need to learn when it suits them.
The solution
The platform has two sides: administration for the organisation and learning for the employee.
Administration: rules that assign the right training automatically
Administrators link courses to job roles and organisational units and set how often each course must be completed. From there the system takes over: if an employee belongs to unit X and holds role Y, the system knows which courses they need and how often, and assigns them automatically.
Courses can be created directly on the platform. Managers and trainers see reports in the view and level of detail that suits them, from an organisation-wide overview down to a single employee’s training history and results.
Administration features:
- course creation on the platform
- courses linked to job roles and organisational units
- configurable refresher intervals
- automatic assignment of employees to courses
- reports for managers and trainers at different levels of detail
Learning: online training at a time that suits the employee
Employees see on their dashboard which courses are assigned to them and when they are due. They complete training online, at a time and place that suits them, including on mobile.
Completions and results are recorded immediately and visible to managers and trainers. When a refresher is due, the system assigns the employee to the course again.
The employee view:
- overview of assigned courses and deadlines
- e-learning on web and mobile
- quizzes with recorded results
- completion history and certificates
The platform is built on a proven learning management foundation, extended with the logic an off-the-shelf solution doesn’t offer. Beyond development, we created Coursy’s brand, illustrations and print materials.
The results
Training management went from manual work to an automated process. The organisation sets the rules once and the system makes sure every employee gets the right training at the right time.
